Star Shelter will be released in October 2017 for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive

The indie title Star Shelter for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive from Overflow combines the survival genre with an adventure and packs the exciting mix into a virtual garb. In the endless expanse of space, it is your task to survive. You need to repair your broken ship and try to return to your home planet. The Sci-Fi Adventure will be released in October 2017 on Steam.

Star Shelter – Survival meets VR

In the indie-sci-fi title Star Shelter, you woke up inside an old space shuttle farm and must find a way to leave the deserted place. The only option is to repair one of the broken spaceships. They collect materials and plunder the surrounding ships.

But that’s not all, as the VR-Adventure has elements from the survival genre. So you must always have a look at your oxygen storage, your energy as well as your hunger. These values have to move in a moderate frame, otherwise it is called GameOver. Similarly, you plant various plants that provide you with food and oxygen, and attach solar generators so that you do not run out of electricity. For the movement in the gravitational universe, you use your rocket propulsion, but you have to be careful, because this requires a lot of the necessary oxygen.

The game also offers some action passages, as you can use your laser to destroy drones and surrounding towers. In addition, the environment and surrounding spaceships are created by random generators, ensuring a return value. Particularly impressive is the fact that it is only two developers. Accordingly, they placed less emphasis on high-quality and elaborate graphics, but on the important game elements. For example, the title starts in an early access phase and calls on the players’ feedback to get the best out of the indie title.

StarShelter from Overflow will appear in October 2017 for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in Early Access on Steam . The price has not yet been determined.
