Star Wars: Battlefront 2 does not receive VR support
A few months ago, you could still hope for a VR adaptation for the most anticipated title of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 from EA. But now the developers of Criterion announced in a recent interview that there will be no VR support for the game. The title appears officially on November 17, 2017 for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. In addition, Star Wars: Battlefront Ultimate Edition is currently massively reduced on the PlayStation Store.
No VR support for Star Wars: Battlefront 2
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 allows you to dive into the Star Wars universe. You can play unique and epic space battles or control the planet’s familiar Star Wars vehicles. In addition to action-packed multiplayer battles, an exciting singleplayer campaign is also available with a story for revenge, betrayal and redemption. The player also meets popular characters from the Star Wars Univers.
Many fans have been hoping for VR support for the game, but this has now been denied. In a recent interview with Metro, Matt Webster and John Stanley of Criterion confirmed that no VR adaptation for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will be released in the future. They added that VR plays an important role for Criterion as well as for the publisher EA, but there will be no VR support on this title.
This is especially a pity, given the announcement several months ago, in which the developers promised something great for the title. In addition, they developed the Star Wars Battlefront X-Wing VR mission with DICE, which was very popular among the players. At least an adaptation of PSVR players would have been desirable.
You should not give up the hope completely, because perhaps there will be a corresponding VR-experience or an update to the integration of the VR-support at a later time after the publication.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will be released on November 17, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
