Samsung’s Windows mixed reality headset leaks out

Samsung wants to take part in Windows Mixed Reality: A Twitter user published several product pictures showing a previously unannounced VR glasses from Samsung.

The name of Microsoft’s upcoming platform can be seen on the left side of the case. Like the products from Acer, Asus, HP, Dell and Lenovo, Samsung’s VR glasses also have two front cameras installed, which allow the device to locate in the room and capture Microsoft’s 3D controller. Unlike the competition, Samsung’s VR glasses offer integrated headphones from AKG.

Samsung’s logo can be seen on the back of the headrest. The image in question also shows a rotary wheel for the adjustment of the lens distance, two buttons for regulating the volume and an approximation sensor. The case and the head support have an upholstery made of artificial leather.

More information on October 3rd

In addition to these pictures, there is currently no more information on Samsung’s VR glasses. The specifications are likely to be similar to those of the competing products, all of which have two LCD displays, each with a resolution of 1,440 x 1,440 pixels per eye.

The ergonomic design adopted by Playstation VR is also identical. Presumably, Samsung’s VR glasses can be flipped as well as the devices from Acer, Asus, HP, Dell and Lenovo. Details about the release date and the price are not yet known.

More information on Samsung’s VR glasses will be available on October 3rd at the latest. On this day, Microsoft is likely to answer the remaining questions about Windows Mixed Reality. Exactly two weeks later the platform starts.
