Onward: Free test weekend from 14 to 17 September
Onward, the tactical multiplayer VR shooter for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, inspires many players by leading the way in competitive VR with a new pro league. Now the developers of Downpour Interactive provide an insight for those players who have not yet tested the first person shooter. From 14 to 17 September 2017 the game is free of charge for everyone. In addition, the developers announced a patch with many new content.
The FPS Shooter Onward for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive convince thanks to tactical elements and a realism setting. The movement takes place via the touchpad or with the analog sticks of the controller.
Also, the VR title requires a lot of coordination, communication, and of course, aiming by the players. For this you have a huge weapon arsenal and a variety of equipment for the various situations, which offer a lot of space for tacting. The selected items and weapons are located directly on the body, which means you can easily grab them. Also the use of the weapons feels different, because you have the possibility to hold each weapon with one or two hands. This gives you more stabilization during shooting and a much more realistic feeling. Reloading also differs from weapon to weapon.
With a maximum of five players per team, you have to go into battle and have to switch off the opposing team together. This requires a lot of Teamplay and you should consider exactly which player is responsible for which role and function. The movement is carried out by pushing the button on the controller. In this case, you are moving towards the pressed button on the Thumbpad.
Onward is free to play on Steam with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive from 14th to 17th September .
